A new restuarant which has appeared in the uber groovy Yarraville village is a real treat. it just has that authentic feel of a trattoria which could be anywhere in provincial Italy. The food is great and the service is by people who care and actually own the palae. It has upstairs and floor level dinning in what feels rustic but contemporary. I think this place will grow into a favourite of many locals.

I prefer this lcoation as a lunchtime haunt. call me fussy, but i live local and know every cafe here inside out. The people who run it are nice, yet quiet people and they do some very nice lunch dishes. Including my fav the Vegie Lasagna. I also indulge in an Urbano Burger once in a while which comes with a nice salad to offset guilt on the side. For breaky go the Omlete versus the scrambled eggs which is just a bit better. The coffee their is nice, as you’d excpect ina gentrified uber groovy Suburb like Yarraville village. Go there and tell ’em Stevie sent you.

Awesome Cambodian / Vietnamese crossover food. A great place for communal dinning to enjoy delights such as hand made rice paper rolls, hot pumpkin wontons and spicy Vietnamese fishcakes. Or you can enjoy a beautiful Char Kroeung or Hokkien noodle dish. The veggies they serve with all the dishes with are sublime in freshness. You really can taste the difference here versus many other Asian resturants. I’m not a big Asian food fan, but I love this place. it also crosses the chasm where most Aussies or Westerners will enjoy the food.
The room is very cosy with long benches which are shared with little elbow room – however this can make a cool dining experience for meeting people and having a nice chat with other locals or even a stranger. They also have a nice wine list and beers from the south East Asian region. They also serve up a pretty reasonable coffee too & do takeout. Highly recommended.

A fine dinning restuarant tucked away in the uber groovy Yarraville Village. Expect nothing less than fine dinning. Age fine food guide style. My favourite dish is clearly the Peking Duck Risotto. They also have an extensive wine list and really nice deserts with a modern Australian feel. And have the madatory high end steak for the carnivorous types. There is no particular regional influence in the food but it has a nice variety of dishes. The room is very comfortable with nice bentwood chairs and relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting. Service is of a high standard. Prices reflect the fine dinning atmosphere.

This is a classic italian style pizza place. Focus is traditional old style thin crust pizza with only afew ingredients per pizza. There is no changes allowed to any Pizza which I respect. The restuarant is cosy & groovy. You can really taste each pizza has it’s individual mouthfeel, where you can taste what you are eating.
The best thing ever is the dessert – the Chocolate Calzone. Delectable.

Carson’s Lounge opened up a few months ago in Yarraville near where old Mr Carson operated his florist shop for 50 years. The barista makes an awesome latte and his latte art skills are second to none. The lounge has a couple of large leather lounges, a fireplace and free wi-fi, making it a regular haunt of mine during the week.

The Commercial Hotel in Yarraville is a great kid-friendly pub. Great beer garden, and outdoor kids’ entertainment on Sundays in the summertime.
