You guys must have been in the cheap seats – I’ve seen two of my favourite live shows at this venue, post up near the mixing desk and the sound is dandy.
If you’re looking for awful, look no further than Rod Laver.

Had one for lunch today, perfect. Garlic sauce but hold the onions.

MSY generally has the cheapest LCDs around Melbourne. They have a 0 bright pixel warranty which is nice too. Remember to buy non-brand name as they’re all using the same panels from the same factory, just different cases.

If you can brave the stench of the computer swap meet you can usually pick up some fair-priced deals on older computer hardware. The swap meets occur on Sundays at various town halls around Melbourne. Check the Age green guide for where upcoming weeks will be.
Closest to Abbotsford is the swap meet that happens at Collingwood Town Hall.

If you’re buying a second hand laptop you’ve really only got 2 options: ebay or a computer swap meet.
If you already know which one you want (ie: specific brand/model) ebay is the place. You can get one from some other punter without the added premium of buying through a store.

Notebooks R Us is grossly overpriced in my experience, I was in the market for a new laptop and found one at Notebooks R Us which I liked. Then I found the identical laptop – down to the last detail – for more than $1200 less at cworld – less than a block away.
I would guess that this inflated price issue stretches to used laptops but I cannot confirm.

The only Duffle you should think about buying is Gloverall – geniune British dufflecoats. Unfortunately theyr’e nearly $1000 new in Australia, so you should buy a nice second hand one from Retrostar or a similar 2nd hand disposal place for less that a tenth of the price. If you can afford a real one give the difference to charity.

Prime sell a small selection of re-release vintage style shoes. Sometimes they have shoes other stores don’t get, but you have to pay a pretty penny…

The Nike clearance store down the end of Smith Street sometimes has some pretty decent retro sneakers at ok prices. It’s worth checking by every so often as they’ll occasionally have some great deals.
(They also have lots and lots of football boots cheap)
