Jason Stirk said Asian Feast is fair for Chinese food

    Bruxner Hwy, Goonellabah, NSW, Australia

Nothing fancy, but the food and service was good, and our meals arrived quickly. Granted, it wasn’t exactly busy when we went in there.

Apparently Tuesdays they do a buffet, but not sure what that’s like.

Jason Stirk said Taka Japanese Cuisine is great for Japanese food

Shafto Ln, Perth, WA 6000, Australia

The food here is great, as is the atmosphere. Might have to wait a while, but the quality of the food is exceptional, and you can be certain it’s being prepared fresh. Don’t even think about bothering with a “pre-packaged” sushi place – Taka is much better!

Jason Stirk said Pier One Juice Shack & Sandwich Bar is great for sandwiches

1 Pier St, Urangan, QLD 4655, Australia

We had some sandwiches here while we were visiting Hervey Bay. Seriously awesome sandwiches, and a lot cheaper than we were expecting. The place doesn’t look like much, but the salad was fresh, the bread was beautiful and Rach was impressed that the dude didn’t drown it in mayo (which is what most shops do).

Jason Stirk said Squeeze N' Grind is great for sandwiches

18A Haynes St, Kalamunda, WA 6076, Australia

This place makes the best sandwiches I’ve ever had – real fresh salad, fresh bread and rolls, and they’ll make it however you want.

Jason Stirk said Blueys Cafe is great for coffee and food

19 Woodlark St, Lismore, NSW 2480, Australia

Had breakfast here a few times – do a mean Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon. Coffee was good, and Rach had nice things to say about their Iced Chocolate, Pancakes and other such sweetments.

We had lunch there a while back, and that was well tasty too. Prices are quite reasonable too.

Jason Stirk said Digby's is good for lunch

    Belmont, WA, Australia

The food is good (they do a mean quiche and salad, as well as roasts), the prices aren’t crazy, and the service is always good.

Their satay burger is also awesome, and I’ve never had to dig a piece of plastic or metal out of my lunch – unlike some shops nearby.

Jason Stirk said Belmont's Cafe is awful for lunch

41 Belmont Ave, Belmont, WA 6103, Australia

I lost count of the number of times that I swore never to return to this place. Although the food is occasionally great, I’ve pulled more plastic, steel wool and other cruft out of my food than I’d care to remember.

Might be OK for anything packaged (or coffee) but I’ll be damned if I’m eating there again.

Jason Stirk said Cafe Giardino is good for lunch

178 Keen St, Lismore, NSW 2480, Australia

We had a $12 buffet lunch which was pretty snazzy – 4 pasta dishes, and a wide range of salad, vegetables and other little treats. Quite good for the price.
